Overpriced and was NOT aware that the rooms face the reception area, very Claustrophobic, no natural light at all. I did mention this to reception but she just said make a note on the booking next time, how the heck would I know you had interior rooms without natural light. No clue what it looks like outside. Not mentioned on your website. So I paid $580+, for 2 rooms for a box for one night. Gym consists of 1 treadmill, 2 elliptical and one set of dumbbells, for this size hotel you would think they could dedicate a bigger space and more equipment, really can’t claim this as a gym. Positives, Location is great, rooms were clean with free parking and breakfast.

We had a wonderful stay in May 2024. The front desk staff was very friendly, especially to our dogs (thank you to Charlotte). They have a great downtown location. The only snag was the elevator broke down while we were there but the staff was so helpful dealing with that while we were checking out.

This hotel is right on the downtown strip of Deadwood. Go over to Main street and you're right next door to Saloon #10. We stayed here for five nights on a family vacation. We were last in Deadwood in June 2013 so it'd been a while. Deadwood is still Deadwood, though a bit more touristy than last time we were in town. We chose Deadwood as it would be a good central location for the activities we wanted to do in the Blackhills (Spearfish Canyon, Black Elk Peak, Hot Springs, Mount Rushmore,). However, as of this writing (June 2024) Route 385 is closed going down toward Custer and this makes things a little less convenient. Checking in was easy and the woman at the desk was very accomodating. Having vegetarians in the family, she did her best to try and find some options for us as we got into town. The parking situation is a bit of a hassle. You get about 20 minutes to unload your car and then park in a lot that is a few blocks away. It's included and the lot does has some restricted access, but there were times we didn't want to walk the few blocks (after climbing a mountain, for example). This is something to consider. The room itself was nice and was up-to-standard for a Holiday Inn Express. The shower was good, there was a fridge and microwave in the room. Our room overlooked the lobby, so we didn't get the experience of having daylight peak through the blinds to start waking us up. The breakfast was good and had a decent selection. There was fresh fruit, eggs, yogurt, a pancake maker, and toast/pastries. There was also a jug with drinking water in the lobby. Pool was decent and the hot tub was comfortable, especially after doing a long hike. There's a casino on-site, however there were no actual table games. Overall this is a good option for staying in the heart of Deadwood and I'd stay here again.

We stayed here recently for a weekend getaway to celebrate a friend's birthday, and it was a great choice. The rooms and beds were comfortable and clean. Some of the rooms (including ours) face the inner courtyard instead of outside, but I never noticed significant noise or other disruptions. There isn't any parking at the hotel itself, but they give you a pass to park in a nearby garage and will valet your car for free if you'd like. The included breakfast had plenty of options for everyone in our trip, and included many healthier choices. All the of staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. We'll definitely stay again next time we're in town.
